These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Kornet's website and malware-cleanup service (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Kornet provides an automated malware-cleanup service for WordPress websites. After you connect your site, Kornet scans your files and database for free. Only if it finds malware or something that needs a closer look do we ask for payment; once you approve a one-time charge, Kornet removes the malware it identifies and gives you a report. The Service is self-served and automated — we do not offer manual cleanups. Kornet currently supports WordPress sites only, and each cleanup covers a single site.
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You're responsible for the information you provide and for keeping any account credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
By submitting a website to Kornet, you represent and warrant that:
You are strongly encouraged to keep your own backup of your site before a cleanup. You may not use the Service on any site you don't own or aren't authorized to act on, or for any unlawful purpose.
The Service removes malware. It is not a website-repair, development, performance, or general security service, and it does not guarantee that a site will function after cleanup. If we detect that your site may already be broken, we'll tell you before continuing; if you choose to proceed, that cleanup is not eligible for a refund (see our Refund Policy). We do not currently offer ongoing backup subscriptions or blocklist/de-listing services.
The base price for a one-time cleanup is US$70 per site. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we don't store your card details. The scan itself is free and requires no card — nothing is collected while we scan your site. We only ask for payment if we find malware or need to take a closer look at some files: at that point we show you exactly what we found and collect a one-time US$70 at a single checkout. If your scan is clean, you pay nothing and are never asked for a card. You can stop at any point before you approve that checkout, at no cost. If a site requires significantly more processing (for example, an unusually large site or one with a very high number of infected files), the price may be higher; we will show you the exact total at checkout before you approve any charge, and you can choose to continue or stop for free. Prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: a clean scan is free, so there's nothing to refund; if we charged you for a cleanup, you may request a refund within 7 days, and we review each request individually, issuing a full or partial refund based on what was and wasn't cleaned. A completed cleanup may not be fully refundable.
Before changing any file or database record, we save a copy of the original (and we keep the cleaned version too). For a limited time after a cleanup you can download a copy of your site's files from before the cleanup from your report, and if you want any change restored, email [email protected] and we'll restore it for you. After that window, those copies may be deleted. You can ask us to delete your stored site data at any time — including anything retained to improve our detection — by contacting [email protected]. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
You agree not to: submit sites you don't control or aren't authorized to clean; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; use the Service to violate any law or third-party rights; or resell or misrepresent the Service. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse.
The Service, the Kornet name and logo, and the software and materials we provide are owned by Kornet and protected by law. Your website content remains yours — these Terms grant us only the limited rights needed to perform the cleanup and provide the Service.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." While we work hard to detect and remove malware, no cleanup service can guarantee that all malware will be found or removed, that a site won't be re-infected later, or that a site will be free of issues. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kornet disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Service is not a substitute for your own backups and good security practices.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kornet will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Kornet's total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the cleanup giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold Kornet harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your submission of a site you were not authorized to clean.
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, Stripe for payments and cloud infrastructure providers for hosting and storage). Your use of those features may also be subject to those providers' terms.
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest version; significant changes will be posted here, and your continued use of the Service after changes means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which Kornet is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
